Josh did a great job redesigning an area where I wanted a 7' x 14' raised garden bed removed & a new look created. . Josh has great vision & came up with a totally new & tranquil look to the area. He used the flagstone & timbers from the garden bed, put in irrigation to the new plants along the perimeter with solar lights. Love it. He looks at an area & sees a new picture. Josh Gormally, MLA, APLD, completed a huge landscaping remodel of the front area of my residential property in May, 2017. Josh is very creative and after an initial consultation to establish my desires and requirements for the space, he presented a detailed plan and plant list. The work included demolition of exciting sidewalks and driveway and installation of tons of dirt for landscape mounds, boulders, and decorative rock. He also meticulously placed a stunning flagstone path, replaced all irrigation lines, and installed new lighting. Josh incorporated over 300 plants and 2 trees in the new landscape. The result is beyond what I could have imagined and will only grow more beautiful as the plants and trees mature.

Exceptional Landscape Solution Designed and Delivered

Artistic & Architectural Landscape Design designed and delivered a great solution for us on a conceptually challenging landscape project at a remote work site Northwest of Tucson. Our goals were to better screen a dirt road runing past the property, add pollinator/humming bird gardens (3 separate places), establish vines on a rock wall, add Palo Verde trees, and establish provisions for two future butterfly way stations. Plants had to be native to Southeast Arizona, safe to put in an environmentally sensitive area, and watered by an automated drip system.

Josh listened to our ideas, designed a solution, and oversaw delivery of it. He is a good listener and communicated with us often as the project developed. The plants used, planting techniques, and the 9-station drip system are all high quality and everything is working as planned. We’ll have photos next Spring, when the plantings fill out!

Physically, the project started within the promised window and ended on time. The work site was always clean and the work crew professional. But the highlight of the project was more metaphysical, in the way Josh and his crew approached it. They weren’t just working on a project - they were engaged in it at a much deeper level. That commitment contributed much to the exceptional success of the project.

We are completely satisfied with our recent engagement with Artistic & Architectural Landscape Design and they will be our first choice for any future work. We recommend Josh and crew without reservation!

Josh exceeded our expectations! He began our landscaping project with a presentation of professional, creative drawings and a detailed, comprehensive list of the work to be completed. He was always punctual and did exemplary work. Our project was completed on time and on budget. Josh did it all...new plantings, new irrigation, and new landscape lighting. There were a few addendums, but each time we were given an updated cost sheet - never any surprises. Six months later, we still get compliments on our "new" landscaping. With Josh's hard work, what was once a front yard of scrubs and sand, is now a beautiful butterfly and hummingbird sanctuary. We whole-heartedly recommend Artistic and Architectural Landscape without hesitation.

Josh selected and planted new trees and shrubs and plants with the goal of inviting more butterflies into my yard. The finished product was beautiful and just what I wanted. Josh's design was perfect for what we had in mind for our backyard. When we asked him to do extra work, which was not part of the original contract, he did it willingly and did not charge any more than if the job were to be part of the original contract. Basically, no gouging. I would use Josh any time for any and all work that needs to be done around the house, without any hesitation. Every one who saw the improvements Josh made in the back yard loved it and wanted his card if in case they had some tasks in their mind.

My backyard needed a make over. Josh removed old pavers and gravel (as I call it). They installed new pavers, patio blocks, decorative rock and plants. AALD owner/operator Josh Gormally was an artist and a visionary. I had a vague idea of what I wanted in my blank slate new construction backyard and he took my thoughts and suggestions and created a beautiful and peaceful space. The cost was reasonable and bid lower than other landscapers. He was very professional, always punctual and worked hard alongside his helper. I'm glad I chose Josh as my designer. I was very fortunate to have Josh do the landscaping for my home here in Saddlebrooke. Nothing had been done in the yard for several years so it needed a complete overhaul. Old plants were removed - the concrete patio was replaced with brick pavers - irrigation sykstem was replaced - a fountain repaired and new plants planted and irrigated. It was enhanced with river rock, boulders and gravel. The result was everything I had hoped it would be.

Josh was very professional in his presentation - always on time - daily updates on his progress. His knowledge of plants was impressive with suggestions of what and where to plant. I felt he did an excellent job in every way and I would not hesitate to recommend him and his service.

The landscaping in our small back yard was 20 years old and several plants had outgrown their space. We had them removed--so far, so good--but were unable to agree on what direction to take from there. Josh added a trellis and rocks, as well as contouring part of the space. Somehow he managed to save all of the remaining landscaping while blending it with new. Our yard now looks refreshed and at a happily affordable price.

Josh designed and installed the landscaping for our front and backyard, and he did a fabulous job. We couldn't be more pleased. Josh designed and installed a small cactus garden for me. When we met, Josh discussed options with me and he quickly picked up my vision for the space - coming up with options to fulfill that vision. He worked with the landscape committee to insure compliance with their plans. I had to leave Tucson shortly after we met, but I was very pleased with the results of his work. It opened up the view and gave me a desert landscape. Josh also helped me make arrangements for the initial maintenance of the garden. I found Josh knowledgeable and easy to work with.
